Meeting Room Policy 

 The North Bergen Free Public Library welcomes the community to seek use of a meeting room when not in use by the library.  

Use is granted under the conditions that: 

  • Meetings do not cause a disruption to regular library operations or programs 

  • Meetings are in compliance with the No Food or Drink policy unless otherwise discussed 

  • Meetings are free of charge to members of the community 

  • Meeting rooms are left clean and in original condition 

Meeting rooms may be reserved by North Bergen and Guttenberg residents ages 18+, and children with the supervision of an adult. 


There is a 1-hour limit on use of the room, unless prior arrangements are made with the Library Director. 

The meeting room is for groups, not for individuals. If you are an individual looking for a quiet place to study, please use the North Bergen Room, or the study carrels.


Acceptable uses of the meeting room include proctoring exams, small group/organization/club meetings, book clubs, or interviews. Tutoring is prohibited unless priorly approved by the Library Director.   
 
Meeting rooms must be reserved in advance.  Please make reservations on our website or by calling the library. Only one reservation can be made at a time, unless arrangements are made with the Library Director. Standing reservations are not allowed. 
 


Please note:     

  • Priority use of the rooms is given to the North Bergen Free Public Library and that the rooms will not be available if in use by a library event or library-approved meeting.

  • The library reserves the right to cancel room reservations in the case of a library event. In these cases, the library will do its best to contact and re-schedule the disrupted reservation.  

  • The North Bergen Free Public Library does not endorse activities that take place in meeting rooms conducted by outside organizations unless otherwise advertised.  

  • Meeting rooms are monitored by security camera surveillance at all times. 

  • The North Bergen Free Public Library retains the right to restrict future use of meeting rooms for any reason.
